Why It Matters

While strategy might not be the sexiest topic to talk about on this site, it is essential for getting the best outcome for your brand identity, user experience design, email campaign or any other endeavor to promote your business.

My Approach to marketing strategy can be broken down into four distinct categories:

  • Competitive Analysis

  • Social Media Strategy

  • Multi-Platform Marketing

  • Business Strategy

Today, I aim to define and expand upon each of these categories, and help you to gain more insight into the overwhelming world of marketing strategy. For each of these categories I will be going over:

  • Objective

  • Approach

  • Outcome

Without further ado, lets dive in!

Competitive Analysis

Objective:

Pinpoint key competitors and assess the market position to guide strategic brand development.

Approach:

I begin with Google's tools—like Google Trends and Keyword Planner—to dive deep into my client’s industry, gathering crucial data on their market landscape. Then, I conduct a competitor audit, analyzing SEO rankings, keyword strategies, and customer engagement metrics to benchmark my client against the competition. This helps identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities for growth.

Outcome:

By integrating these insights, I shape brand identities that not only reflect the client's aesthetic but also position them to outperform competitors, boosting both customer acquisition and engagement.

Social Media Strategy

Objective:

Create tailored posting schedules and audience segments for optimized user engagement.

Approach:

Honestly, I’m not the biggest fan of social media, which is why I love using “set it and forget it” strategies. Tools like Later help me stay current on social trends. I develop personalized posting schedules across platforms and craft social campaigns based on audience research and competitor engagement insights, ensuring everything aligns with my client’s goals.

Outcome:

This strategic approach has eased the posting burden for clients and boosted their engagement, leading to stronger customer relationships.

Multi-Platform Marketing

Objective:

Develop a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to the client’s business, integrating digital initiatives, trade show engagements, visual marketing, email campaigns, and blog content.

Approach:

Many marketers pigeonhole their clients down one narrow path. I prefer to take a more holistic approach. Paid ads are not my go-to for businesses unless they have a well-established budget (if you know what I mean). Instead, I collaborate with clients to create a personalized marketing plan that utilizes diverse strategies fitting their business model. I provide detailed goals, checklists, and calendars, breaking down actionable steps to help track key performance metrics.

Outcome:

This diversified approach fosters consistent and stable business growth over time. Think of it as a well-balanced investment portfolio; by spreading marketing efforts across various channels, the business has the chance to excel in one area while the other outlets provide essential support.

Business Strategy

Objective:

Align marketing efforts with business growth targets.

Approach:

I believe marketing and business strategy should go hand-in-hand and often bleed over into one another. I discuss current revenue marks and potential goals with each of my clients so we know what we’re aiming for. This includes breaking down the pricing structure of their products and assessing whether the pricing strategy should change or the prices of the products themselves should change.

Additionally, because we’re positive thinkers here, we want to assume the best-case scenario for our marketing efforts. I help the client evaluate any potential bottlenecks in production, staffing, or otherwise to ensure that they can grow their business sustainably and can handle the possible influx of business from our marketing efforts.

Outcome:

By working with my clients on their business strategy in conjunction with our marketing strategies, ensures that there are no blind spots in the business that could cause a huge failure. This sets everybody up for success and increases the likelihood of growing faster.

Conclusion

In today’s competitive landscape, a well-rounded marketing strategy is crucial for driving success. By focusing on competitive analysis, social media strategy, multi-platform marketing, and integrated business strategies, I help clients create dynamic, adaptable plans tailored to their unique needs. This holistic approach not only enhances brand identity and cus

tomer engagement but also sets the stage for sustainable growth. Together, we can navigate the complexities of marketing, ensuring your brand stands out and thrives in the marketplace.

Let's transform your vision into reality!
